Although I strongly recommend feeding your family only organic food, I understand that’s not always a reality. The Environmental Working Group compiled a list of the “Dirty Dozen”- foods that are the highest in pesticide contamination. Only buy these foods organic:
Apples
Celery
Cherries
Grapes
Nectarines
Peaches
Pears
Potatoes
Raspberries
Spinach
Strawberries
Sweet Bell Peppers
They also compiled a list of cleaner foods- those that can be eaten if organic is not an option:
Asparagus
Avocado
Bananas
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Kiwis
Mangoes
Onions
Papayas
Peas
Pineapples
Sweet corn
