Coconut for Healing

The almighty coconut contains lauric acid which your body uses to make monolaurin- an essential fatty acid. It is antiviral, antimicrobial and antibacterial so it helps your immune system fight off any bugs you are exposed to, and it will help you heal when you are sick.  Here are a few ways to add it to your family’s diet:

Drink coconut water (especially if one has the flu- it is an amazing rehydrant!)  Aim for 8 oz a day
Use coconut oil for cooking and baking (it’s a very healthy fat that actually promotes weight loss)
Add coconut milk to smoothies

Don’t Want To Give Birth to a 19 Pound Baby?

There was a 19 pound baby born in Indonesia last month. She gained so much weight because her mother is diabetic so she received too much glucose. Studies prove that exercise reduces your risk of developing gestational diabetes- and you don’t have to do much! As little as one flight of stairs per day has benefits.
